He yanked it out and it got stuck right in my nose. My dad tried using pliers to get it out but couldnt, so i ended up in the ER with a blue fox sticking out of my nose. The nurses couldn’t help but laugh. Splash again and the lure comes flying back and hits my in the groin so hard I felt hook and I slumped to the ground. I read "On Fishing" (I think that's the title) which is a collection of his trout and outdoor stories. He's funny. The trout part of this book made me think of him. A former prosecutor & judge, he also wrote a number of other books, most notably, "Anatomy of a Murder"

Up comes a local and asks if we want a nip of some moonshine. I pass as the fishing is not too bad but Icechip can’t let a man drink alone and he has not had a bite so agrees. Well they drink the whole bottle on the back of my tailgate with Icechip consuming most of it. Icechip says he is just going to have a little nap.
Having tried just about everything in my previous shots at these fish and quite honestly feeling a more than a little defeated, this time I chose to hold my rod tip completely still. Just as the streaking mark merges into the one representing my tube on the flasher display, my rod tip dips ever so slightly. It was the type of take you get from a lazy walleye when it’s 20-below outside. I made a trip up to the Canadian side of Lake of the Woods at the beginning of March with the express purpose of catching a lake trout.
We had walked a couple hundred yards past the only road to the lake and started fishing on some ledge where an old cabin sat.
